Text Box: Dinner Meeting

November signaled the start of our new Anglers’ Club 2011-12 Season with our annual Anglers’ Club Membership Dinner Party.  Everyone enjoyed award winning BBQ ribs with beans and potato salad, all paid for by the Club.  Members brought either, an appetizer or dessert, so some gourmet treats were shared by all.

In addition, awards were handed out to the winners of the various species divisions for most caught and largest caught.  Each winner in eleven categories of 2 awards received $25 gift certificates to Snook Nook.  Anglers of the Year - Donn Bearman and Judy Carrino, and Boat of the Year – Hal-Raiser shared in further gift certificates and personalized Columbia windbreakers. Art Warden won the Captain’s award for his extra-ordinary support to the Club, and Guy Harvey long sleeve pocket Tee’s were presented to the boat captains who participated in the Pompano Outing.  The year long tournament begins again with awards same time/same place next year.

The 50-50 winners were J.B. Sojourner, Pat Carnahan, and Lou Lader.

Overall, a good time was had by all; the food was great – thanks to the Carrino Porky n’ Beans Team, the service was superb – thanks to the River Club’s staff, and it all came off perfectly, thanks to Diane Foran, Dee Polletti, and the Food & Beverage Committee.

As with all clubs and originations it takes dedicated members to make things run smooth

And be a benefit to the entire club. We have several members that have been on the board and committees from the beginning. As you know by all of the events our club has we need our members to step up and help and relieve these people and take a turn  with new and exciting changes.

With that being said I would like to hear from some of you to discuss a committee position or a spot on the board. The club needs you.

Thanks, Captain Hal
