What a busy month we had in January. Our dinner at the Club on January 19 was a huge success with over 120 members attending…an ALL TIME HIGH!!!. The meal was great and made even better with the announcement by one of our members that, after a long fight with cancer, he was now in remission.
We also had our annual luncheon cruise on January 21. Again, a new high with over 60 members attending. What a great job John Ghee did with that. My thanks to you John. You can find more on these events elsewhere in this Newsletter.
As I announced at the dinner, we have many more events planned for the Anglers’ Club, all of which is due to some very dedicated and strong committee members doing a great job making it happen. However, with all the extra things we are doing, we can use more help. If you would like to get involved, please give me a call. If you remember, last year I asked you to give me input on what we should do with the Anglers’ Club events. The response was great and your board responded; now we need help to make all of these things happen smoothly.
Looking forward to this month, our first activity is February 9 at the club. There will be a light dinner, supplied by the Anglers’ Club, followed by a great presentation made by the Martin County Reef Association, showing us underwater slides of how valuable the reefs are to our fishing grounds. On a personal note, I would like to see as many of you there as possible to show our appreciation for this program and the time spent by our presenter and guest. Also captains, you will receive some fishing numbers that are not published anywhere else.
Thanks and good fishing.
