Wow, did we have a turn out. Our Membership Dinner on November 10th was a rousing success with over 130 rib eating chow hounds. Dennis and Judy Carrino, with their merry band of rib makers, again presented their award winning ribs for our pleasure. Joyce Simpson and her legion of helpers pulled it all off like clock work, and for all of you who brought the side dishes and desserts, they were great, and thank you.
Not only did we have a great dinner to start the new membership year, we also recognized the accomplishments of the past. The 2007-08 Ballantrae Angler’s Club Fishing Tournament was also a great success with 377 fish entered, representing 11 different species, and caught by 18 members during 48 outings.
Captain Hal presented the awards to the anglers who caught the longest and most fish in each of the species. The winners for 2007-08 were as follows:
Roaring-to-Go: Most Anglers Catching Fish
Donn Bearman: Master Angler – Most Species, Most Fish Most Trout Most & Longest Pompano Most Snook Most & Longest Grouper Most Snapper
Paul Daly Longest Trout
Hal Fowler: Most & Longest Dolphin
Ron Klowden: Most & Longest Sheepshead
